Congressman Jim Baird, who has represented Indiana's 4th district since 2019, recently addressed several significant issues through his social media posts. Born in Covington, Indiana, and a Purdue University graduate, Baird has served in various political roles including the Indiana House of Representatives and the Putnam County Commission.

On July 7, 2025, Congressman Baird expressed his condolences and gratitude regarding the recent flooding in Texas. He urged for continued prayers for those affected by the tragedy and commended first responders for their efforts. "Please join me in continuing to pray for the families who are affected by the tragic flooding in Texas and facing unimaginable grief. I also want to thank the heroic first responders for their ongoing efforts in the wake of this tragedy."

The following day, on July 8, 2025, Baird addressed misconceptions about a legislative initiative known as "The One Big Beautiful Bill." He clarified that it is not merely a tax break for billionaires but instead provides substantial tax cuts to middle- and working-class Americans. "MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill is just a tax break for billionaires. FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers the largest middle- and working-class tax cut in U.S. history! This legislation will put more than $10,000 a year back into the pockets of typical hardworking"

Later that day, he acknowledged an important development concerning national security related to agriculture. Baird highlighted a new initiative unveiled by Secretary Rollins and USDA aimed at protecting American farmland from foreign adversaries like Communist China. He emphasized that food security is integral to national security. "Great to see @SecRollins and @USDA unveil the National Farm Security Action Plan to protect American farmland and our agricultural research from foreign adversaries such as Communist China. Food security is national security."

Jim Baird continues to serve his constituents while addressing key issues impacting both local communities and broader national interests.
