Congressman Jim Baird, representing Indiana's 4th district since 2019, has recently shared updates on his activities and legislative priorities via social media. Baird, who succeeded Todd Rokita in Congress, is known for his advocacy for veterans and support of manufacturing jobs in Indiana.

On June 18, 2025, Congressman Baird expressed his honor at attending the Tippecanoe County Veterans Council meeting. He stated, "Last night, I was honored to attend the Tippecanoe County Veterans Council meeting. It’s always an honor to sit down and talk with fellow veterans. I will continue to be an advocate for them in Congress and ensure they receive the care they rightly deserve."

Later that day, he highlighted the importance of a legislative initiative aimed at protecting manufacturing within his district. On June 18, he tweeted about the One Big Beautiful Bill stating it "PROTECTS manufacturing in Indiana's Fourth Congressional District, including: 12,000 manufacturing jobs. $1 billion in wages. $2 billion in economic output."

On June 20, Congressman Baird emphasized the necessity of passing the One Big Beautiful Bill to bolster border security policies associated with former President Trump. He asserted that the bill would "reimplement Remain in Mexico," "complete the border wall," "hire 10,000 new ICE officers," and "3,000 new Border Patrol agents."

Jim Baird has been serving as a U.S. Congressman since 2019 after a career that included service in both the Indiana House of Representatives and Putnam County Commission. Born in Covington, Indiana in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle, Baird graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
