On June 17, 2025, Congressman Baird issued a statement regarding Israel's military actions against Iran. He directed his followers to view the full statement via a provided link: "My full statement on Israel's strikes on Iran https://t.co/rNOrXZ8KbT".

Later that day, he expressed support for the proposed "One Big Beautiful Bill," highlighting its potential benefits for working and middle-class Americans. According to Baird, if enacted into law, the bill would result in a significant wage increase for Hoosiers: "The One Big Beautiful Bill is an economic victory for working and middle-class Americans! If the One Big Beautiful Bill becomes law, Hoosiers will see their wages increase in the long run by $5,100 to $9,800."

On June 18, 2025, Congressman Baird compared immigration statistics between May 2024 under President Biden and May 2025 under former President Trump. He attributed improved border security measures to Trump's policies: "Illegal immigrants released under Biden in May 2024: 62,000+ Illegal immigrants released under President Trump in May 2025: 0 All we needed to secure the border was a new @POTUS and a return to President Trump's SUCCESSFUL border security policies!"

Congressman Jim Baird has been serving Indiana’s 4th district since replacing Todd Rokita in Congress in 2019. Prior to this role, he served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and was part of the Putnam County Commission from 2006 to 2010.
