Congressman Jim Baird, who has represented Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared several updates via his social media platform recently. Baird's posts covered topics ranging from tax legislation to honoring law enforcement officers.

On May 14, 2025, Congressman Baird referenced a report by the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation concerning the "One Big, Beautiful Bill." According to his tweet, Americans earning between $30,000 and $80,000 could expect a tax reduction of approximately 15% by the year 2027 under this proposed bill.

The following day, on May 15, Baird expressed his support for this legislation through another post. He stated: "My statement on voting to PASS the One Big, Beautiful Bill out of @HouseAgGOP" which was accompanied by a link to further details about his position and actions regarding the bill.

In another update dated May 16 during National Police Week, Congressman Baird paid tribute to law enforcement officers in Indiana. He specifically honored Fred Fislar and Brandon Shreiber who had died in the line of duty. He emphasized that their "service and sacrifice should always be remembered and honored."

Jim Baird was born in Covington, Indiana in 1945 and resides in Greencastle. He has served in various public roles including as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and as Putnam County Commissioner from 2006 to 2010. A Purdue University alumnus with a degree earned in West Lafayette in 1967, he succeeded Todd Rokita in representing Indiana’s fourth district.
