Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative achievements and extend community messages.
On September 22, 2025, Baird announced his support for a new federal investment in rural healthcare, stating: "I proudly voted for the Working Families Tax Cuts to deliver a historic $50 billion investment in rural health care through the Rural Health Transformation Program! This is a huge win for Hoosiers and rural communities across our country."
The following day, on September 23, 2025, he posted greetings related to an important religious observance: "To Hoosiers celebrating Rosh Hashanah, I wish you all a sweet and happy new year!"
On September 24, 2025, Baird addressed recent violence involving law enforcement officers in Dallas. He wrote: "Please pray for our ICE agents in Dallas, the victims, and their families. Thank you to the brave first responders for their quick action. Violence against ICE and other law enforcement officers cannot be tolerated."
Baird has served Indiana’s 4th congressional district since replacing Todd Rokita in 2019. Before joining Congress, he held seats in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and served as Putnam County Commissioner from 2006 to 2010. Born in Covington in 1945 and now residing in Greencastle at age 77, Baird graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in West Lafayette in 1967.
