Congressman Jim Baird, currently representing Indiana’s 4th district, shared several announcements on social media, reflecting on his recent engagements and acknowledgments in the House. Baird, who succeeded Todd Rokita in 2019, has been actively participating in congressional matters and community recognition.

On April 30, 2025, Baird spoke on the House Floor to congratulate the McCutcheon High School Mavericks Robotics team for their achievement in winning the 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship. This acknowledgment reflects Baird's support for education and innovation, particularly in the field of robotics.

Later that day, Baird honored Sgt. Rodney Jenkins for his retirement after more than 26 years of dedicated service with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Baird expressed gratitude for Jenkins’s contributions to community safety and his commitment to public service, recognizing the significant impact made over nearly three decades.

On May 1, 2025, Baird paid tribute to Dr. Karen Plaut, who retired from her role as Executive Vice President for Research at Purdue University. Baird acknowledged her impressive career, noting her contributions to research and academia, and congratulated her on her well-deserved retirement.

Jim Baird's career has spanned various public service roles since 2006, reaching the Indiana House of Representatives before his congressional appointment. Born in Covington, Indiana, Baird resides in Greencastle and holds a 1967 Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette.
