Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several key political and international issues through a series of posts on his social media account.

On October 6, 2025, Baird commented on the ongoing government funding debate, stating, "Republicans passed a CLEAN CR to keep our government funded. Democrats are holding this funding hostage to appease the far-left, give benefits to illegal immigrants, and REPEAL $50 billion in funding for rural health care."

The following day, Baird reflected on the anniversary of a significant attack in Israel. On October 7, 2025, he posted, "Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists killed over 1,200 innocent people and took 250 hostages in the bloodiest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. We must never forget the atrocities of October 7th, and we must ensure such an attack never happens again."

Baird also expressed support for efforts to resolve ongoing conflict in the Middle East. On October 9, 2025, he wrote, "I thank @POTUS, @SecRubio, and the entire Trump Administration for their leadership and for their hard work to secure this historic peace plan to bring all the hostages home. This plan is a monumental step toward securing a lasting peace in the region. Please join me in praying https://t.co/ObxnIXsFCO"

Jim Baird has represented Indiana’s 4th District in Congress since 2019 after serving in both the Indiana House of Representatives and as a Putnam County Commissioner. Born in Covington, Indiana in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle, Baird holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.
