Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted legislative efforts and policy positions on social media.

On September 2, 2025, Baird posted about his appearance on WISH News 8: "#ICYMI: I joined @WISHNews8 to discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill's investment in rural hospitals, how President Trump is pursuing PEACE between Russia and Ukraine, my Small Modular Reactor Commercialization Act to unleash America's nuclear energy capabilities, and more! https://t.co/mPWLjj6bw7".

The following day, September 3, Baird addressed public safety initiatives in Washington D.C., stating: "President Trump is taking historic, SUCCESSFUL action to stop violent crime, make D.C. safer, and support our law enforcement officers. WATCH my interview with @FRCdc's @CaseyHarper33 below https://t.co/ioXLy8sDPv".

Later that same day, Baird announced his intent to vote for legislation aimed at reversing certain federal regulations on domestic energy production: "Today, I will vote to PASS legislation to reverse Biden-era rules that limited domestic energy production. These bills will help UNLEASH America's extraordinary coal, natural gas, and critical mineral resources and LOWER energy costs for Hoosiers."

Baird has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Todd Rokita. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and served as a Putnam County Commissioner from 2006 to 2010. Born in Covington in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle, Baird graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967.
