Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted several updates on his official Twitter account in early August 2025, highlighting recent border security statistics, a White House announcement, and the opening of the Indiana State Fair.

On August 1, 2025, Baird shared statistics about border security under President Trump’s administration: " July 2025 had RECORD low illegal border crossings, AND, for the THIRD consecutive month under @POTUS, there were ZERO illegal immigrants released into our country. President Trump's SUCCESSFUL policies are creating the most secure border on record!"

Three days later, on August 4, he relayed an announcement from First Lady Jill Biden regarding holiday preparations at the White House: ".@FLOTUS has announced that applications for White House Christmas decorators and holiday performers are now open! Applications are due by Friday, September 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET. Don't wait - apply today! More information can be found below https://t.co/bU9nS6eIgU"

Later that same day, Baird celebrated a local tradition with another post: "The Indiana State Fair is officially underway. This is one of my favorite traditions, packed with family fun, food, and it is a great way to show off our exceptional agriculture industry and Hoosier pride. Best of luck to everyone participating in the fair this year! https://t.co/OZCb30Avtj"

Baird has served as U.S. Representative for Indiana's 4th District since replacing Todd Rokita in 2019. Before his time in Congress, he was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and previously served on the Putnam County Commission from 2006 to 2010. Born in Covington in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle at age 77, Baird graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1967.
