Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on his legislative activities and engagement with local agricultural communities through a series of posts on social media.
On July 17, 2025, Baird wrote, "This morning, I met with corn farmers in Indiana to discuss ag policy issues including the Farm Bill, protecting crop insurance, the importance of biofuels, and the need for year-round E15."
The following day, July 18, he announced his support for a federal spending measure: "I was proud to vote to rescind $9 billion in wasteful federal spending. Later that same day, Baird participated in an agricultural policy podcast. Baird has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Todd Rokita. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and as a Putnam County Commissioner from 2006 to 2010. Born in Covington in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle at age 77, Baird is also an alumnus of Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus.
