Congressman Jim Baird, who represents Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates on his official Twitter account regarding legislative efforts and federal initiatives.

On July 16, 2025, Baird highlighted his participation in a House Foreign Affairs Committee session: "In @HouseForeignGOP, I asked Deputy Secretary of State Michael Rigas about what he is doing to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the @StateDept and what can be done to ensure foreign assistance reaches its intended recipients. Later that day, Baird posted about an interview with Matthew Foldi from the DC Reporter: "I was honored to speak to @MatthewFoldi with the @DC_Reporter about the One Big Beautiful Bill and how it’s a historic WIN for our farmers and small businesses! https://t.co/5rgfZqET7m" (July 16, 2025).

In another post on July 16, Baird expressed appreciation for recent federal action against fentanyl: "Thank you, @POTUS, for signing the HALT Fentanyl Act into law. Baird has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Todd Rokita as representative for Indiana's 4th district. He previously held positions in both the Indiana House of Representatives (2010-2018) and Putnam County Commission (2006-2010). Born in Covington in 1945 and currently residing in Greencastle, Baird earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette in 1967.
