Congressman Jim Baird, who has represented Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently addressed several topics on social media. His recent posts focused on federal fiscal policy, the anniversary of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, and veteran care initiatives.

On July 11, 2025, Baird countered claims regarding a legislative package known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. He stated: "MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill ‘increases the deficit.’ FACT: The One Big Beautiful Bill REDUCES deficits by roughly $2 trillion by increasing economic growth and cutting waste, fraud, and abuse across government programs at an unprecedented rate."

On July 14, 2025, Baird reflected on the one-year anniversary of an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. He wrote: "One year ago, President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt in Butler, PA. By the grace of God, President Trump’s life was saved, and now, President Trump continues to fight for America. We must also remember Corey Comperatore, who died a hero, shielding his family".

Later that day, Baird expressed appreciation for Congressman Brian Mast's participation at a local event. He stated: "Thank you to @RepBrianMast for joining @BeauBaird765 and me at the 2025 Lincoln Day Dinner in Putnam County! Thank you for helping highlight how we need to deliver quality care for our veterans, foreign policy, cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in our government..."

Jim Baird is currently serving his third term representing Indiana’s 4th District in Congress after previously serving in both the Indiana House of Representatives and as a Putnam County Commissioner. Born in Covington in 1945 and residing in Greencastle, he graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
