Congressman Jim Baird, who has represented Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared a series of updates via social media. His communications highlight discussions with constituents, recognition of military service, and efforts in the legislative arena.

On April 7, 2025, Baird tweeted about his engagement with Hoosiers in Newton County during a Lincoln Day Dinner. He noted, "I had a wonderful time speaking with Hoosiers in Newton County at the Lincoln Day Dinner! I discussed the work I am doing with my @HouseGOP colleagues alongside the Trump Administration to put America First."

Later that day, Baird shared his honor in presenting a Purple Heart to Larry Harding, a fellow U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. In his tweet, Baird stated, "I was honored to present fellow U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran Larry Harding with a Purple Heart. Harding was injured by shrapnel during a mortar attack and deserves this distinction for his heroism and selfless sacrifice to our country."

On April 8, 2025, Baird addressed concerns regarding technology and security during a House Science Committee discussion. He queried, "Today in @housescience, I asked how we can protect against foreign Artificial Intelligence (AI) threats without imposing excessive regulations that stifle innovation and put American companies at a disadvantage."

Jim Baird, currently residing in Greencastle, Indiana, was born in 1945 in Covington, Indiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, attained in 1967. His political career also includes serving in the Indiana House of Representatives and the Putnam County Commission.
