Congressman Jim Baird, currently serving Indiana’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of updates and reflections on social media. Representing his constituents since 2019, Baird has used his platform to communicate significant events and services available to his community.

On November 20, 2024, Congressman Baird announced upcoming Mobile Office Hours in Cass County set for November 26th. He encouraged residents needing assistance with federal agency-related issues to attend. "Attention Cass County: Please visit us during our Mobile Office Hours on November 26th if you have questions or need assistance with issues related to federal agencies." His staff will be available to address inquiries concerning Social Security, Medicare, VA benefits, among other topics.

Later that day, Congressman Baird took the House Floor to honor Darrick Wiatt from the Greencastle Fire Department. Wiatt was recognized for receiving the 2024 Indiana Emergency Response Conference Fire Officer of the Year Award due to his outstanding leadership. "I spoke on the House Floor to honor Darrick Wiatt of the Greencastle Fire Department for winning the 2024 Indiana Emergency Response Conference Fire Officer of the Year Award for his exceptional leadership!"

In another post on November 20, Baird expressed his concerns regarding national border policies following a tragic event involving Laken Riley. He attributed responsibility to current administrative policies that allowed Jose Ibarra's illegal entry into the country and subsequent criminal actions. "Justice was served, but Laken Riley should still be with us." Baird extended thoughts and prayers to Riley’s family during this difficult time.
