Congressman Jim Baird, representing Indiana's 4th district since 2019, shared a series of tweets on November 19, 2024, addressing key legislative actions and commendations. Baird has been a member of the U.S. Congress following his tenure in the Indiana House of Representatives and the Putnam County Commission.

On November 19, 2024, Congressman Baird expressed pride in supporting legislation aimed at improving healthcare for veterans. "I was proud to vote for the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act to ensure the VA finally delivers on its promise to provide quality, timely health care for our brave men and women in uniform."

Later that day, Baird recognized an individual achievement within his district. "Today, I spoke on the House Floor to honor Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kerry Shepherd for winning the 2024 Indiana Emergency Response Conference Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year Award for his selflessness and unwavering commitment to the fire department!" This acknowledgment highlights local dedication to community service.

Baird also commented on agricultural policy developments with regard to Senate Democrats' handling of the Farm Bill. On November 19, he noted their delay in presenting a proposal. "Senate Democrats waited 178 days after @HouseAgGOP passed our bipartisan Farm Bill to put forward their nearly 1,400-page partisan proposal." He emphasized the necessity of a Farm Bill that prioritizes farmers' needs over political maneuvering.
