McCook Earns NCAC Athlete of the Week Honors
Ryan McCook (Jr., St. Albans, N.Y./ University of Nebraska High School) of the DePauw men's tennis team was selected as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Tigers' wins this past week.
McCook finished the week 4-0 in doubles and singles matches. In the Tigers' 8-1 victory over the Hanover College Panthers, he and doubles partner Thomas Partridge beat Hanover's Jedrek Brodzki and Nicolas Zumba Coronado 8-6 on court one. McCook beat Brodzki 6-1, 6-2 on court three in his singles match.
On Saturday, the Tigers battled the Oberlin College Yeomen, beating Oberlin 6-3 on the road. Once again, Partridge and McCook came out on top, defeating the Yeomen's James Dill and Grant North 8-2 on court one. In singles play, McCook's win over Oberlin's Shawn Lisann (5-7, 7-5, 6-1) tied the matches at three after being down 2-1 heading into singles play
