DePauw Extends Win Streak to Six; Breaks Three-Point Record
Behind a school-record 15 3-pointers and 58 percent shooting from the field, DePauw collected its sixth-straight with a 100-43 victory over Wooster. The Tigers improved to 13-7 overall and 8-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Fighting Scots dropped to 1-18 overall and 0-8 in conference play.The Tigers scored the final six points of the opening period on 3-pointers from Ava Hassel and Lily Huntzinger to take a 21-10 lead and then opened the second with nine-straight points to extend the lead to 30-10. A first half-closing 7-0 run gave DePauw a 53-25 advantage at the halftime intermission. In the second period, while putting up 32 points, the Tigers shot 75% (12-16) from the field and hit all five 3-point attempts.
Hassel led all scorers with 16 points and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. Ainsley Boras followed with 14 points with Huntzinger and Lydia Stullken each posting career-highs with 11 points. Maura Fitzgerald matched a career-best with seven assists.
Mia Walker led Wooster with 14 points and Shalen Guilliams added 11. Ella Biondi hauled down a game-high nine rebounds.
DePauw's 58 percent shooting from the floor was its best of the season and the 15 3-pointers made broke the program's single-game record of 14 which happened on three occasions. DePauw also held a 47-20 rebounding edge. The Tigers' 100 points were the most since a 100-point effort against Kenyon on January 11, 2014.
