The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) provides one-on-one, impartial and confidential health insurance information for people with Medicare. If you have questions about your Medicare health care coverage, would like to review your current plan, or are turning 65 soon, schedule an appointment with a certified SHIP counselor.
SHIP is staffed by a committed crew of certified volunteer counselors who have completed intensive training and keep current with the most recent changes in Medicare and other health care insurance options. SHIP is not affiliated with any insurance company or agency and does not sell insurance. SHIP counselors are also knowledgeable about extra financial help for those with low income or low assets.
Appointments are in-person at 1155 W 3rd Street in Bloomington. If you prefer a telephone or virtual appointment, call 812.353.9300.
If you have questions pertaining to two different individuals on Medicare (for example a husband and wife), please make two separate appointments (ideally back-to-back).
