Hilfinger Selected as NCAC Athlete of the Week
DePauw senior Ben Hilfinger (Beverly Hills, Mich/ Detroit Country Day) has been selected as North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for his performance after DePauw's third-place finish in last weekend's Davenport Quad Meet.
Hilfinger led DePauw in points and top three-finishes throughout the two-day quad meet. He earned first-place finishes in the 50-yard free and 100-yard butterfly, swimming the 50-free in 21.39 and the 100-butterfly in 50.66. Hilfinger also took home second place in the 100-yard free with a time of 46.88.
Along with his individual accomplishments, Hilfinger swam the final leg in two of the Tigers' relays. In the 200-yard freestyle relay James Shorney, Michael Ray, Robbie Sheffield, and Hilfinger earned third with a time of 1:28.77. Those four would take third in the 400-free relay with a time of 3:14.15. In the 400-yard medley relay Max Van Doran, Patrick Unterreiner, Hilfinger, and Shorney swam a 3:37.66 for third.
DePauw will compete in the Phoenix Fall Classic at the University of Chicago from Friday, November 18, through Sunday, November 20.
