9-year-old patient teams up with Riley surgeon to inspire kids in wheelchairs
Eli Taylor is an active nine-and-a-half-year-old with a love of basketball and a fascination with elaborate wheelchair flips and tricks.
He plays for a travel wheelchair basketball team and dreams of mixing basketball with wheelchair tricks and perhaps creating a league for kids like him one day.
It's a big dream, but he knows he has to put in "the hours and seconds." That's what he's learned from his role model, Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham, a five-time wheelchair motocross world champion and paralympic athlete.
And it's why Eli wanted to help Riley orthopedic surgeon Dr. Tyler Christman with his latest mission.
Watch the video below to see how they're using Hot Wheels to show kids there's no obstacle they can't overcome.
