Getting his boots muddy, both literally and figuratively.

Runoff

Putnam County Sheriffs Office Indiana issued the following announcement on Feb. 21.

Getting his boots muddy, both literally and figuratively.

Deputy Josh Clark walks back to the scene of an attempted burglary. His first case as a sworn Deputy, Deputy Clark is learning investigational procedures used by Law Enforcement daily. Evidence collection, vehicle searches, scene documentation, collecting statements, interviewing witnesses, searching for suspects, writing warrants; it's like drinking from a fire hose when you first start this job. He'll be closely supervised by the more senior Deputies during his initial training phases.

Deputies responded to this burglary attempt late last week. The suspect fled on foot prior to our arrival. However, the suspect's vehicle (which was stuck in the mud) was left on scene along with a plethora of evidence. Deputy Clark is learning how to properly initiate investigations and the case will eventually be passed on to detectives for further follow up.

Stay safe out there Putnam County! Report any suspicious activity that you see.
