Congressman Jim Baird, representing Indiana’s 4th district since 2019, has recently shared his legislative actions and perspectives through a series of tweets. Baird, who succeeded Todd Rokita in Congress and has an extensive background in public service within Indiana, expressed his positions on various legislative matters.

On June 12, 2025, Congressman Baird stated “I was proud to support the HALT Fentanyl Act to protect Americans from the scourge of deadly fentanyl.” He emphasized that the bill is now awaiting the President’s signature to become law with the aim of saving lives.

Later that day, he tweeted about his vote on a financial measure: “I also voted to PASS the recissions package that codifies $9.4 billion in DOGE cuts, including eliminating funding for woke USAID programs.” He reiterated his commitment to supporting the President’s agenda while addressing wasteful spending in federal agencies.

On June 13, 2025, Baird thanked the President regarding a specific policy decision: “Thank you, @POTUS! Americans should not be bound by California’s radical left EV mandate!” This statement reflects his stance against what he perceives as restrictive environmental regulations emanating from California.

Jim Baird continues to represent Indiana’s interests at the national level. Born in Covington and currently residing in Greencastle, he holds a degree from Purdue University and has been active in politics since serving on the Putnam County Commission starting in 2006.
