On July 8, 2025, Congressman Baird addressed misconceptions about the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” stating that “MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill kicks American families off Medicaid. FACT: This legislation PROTECTS and STRENGTHENS Medicaid for those who rely on it (pregnant women, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families), while eliminating waste, fraud.”
The following day, July 9, he shared his experience meeting with White County United Way to discuss their efforts in aiding Hoosiers recovering from addiction and trauma. Jim Baird has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Todd Rokita. Before his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and served on the Putnam County Commission from 2006 to 2010.
