Congressman Jim Baird, representing Indiana’s 4th district, has been active on social media discussing legislative and community matters. His recent tweets address the impact of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” on Medicaid, his engagement with local organizations, and discussions about agricultural policy.

On July 8, 2025, Congressman Baird addressed misconceptions about the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” stating that “MYTH: The One Big Beautiful Bill kicks American families off Medicaid. FACT: This legislation PROTECTS and STRENGTHENS Medicaid for those who rely on it (pregnant women, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families), while eliminating waste, fraud.”

The following day, July 9, he shared his experience meeting with White County United Way to discuss their efforts in aiding Hoosiers recovering from addiction and trauma. He expressed gratitude for their contributions to the community by tweeting “Today, I met with White County United Way to discuss the impactful work they are doing to help Hoosiers recover from addiction and trauma. I am grateful for their service to our White County communities.”

Later that day, Congressman Baird met with Randy Kron of the Indiana Farm Bureau to discuss agricultural policy. He highlighted how tax cuts in the “One Big Beautiful Bill” benefit rural America and support Indiana farmers. He tweeted “It was wonderful to meet with @INFarmBureau President Randy Kron today to discuss the Farm Bill and how the tax cuts in the One Big Beautiful Bill benefit Rural America and help farmers in Indiana thrive.”

Jim Baird has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Todd Rokita. Before his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and served on the Putnam County Commission from 2006 to 2010.
